About the Game

Alteratio - A Dungeon Beyond Worlds

Alteratio is a game of change, and how you deal with that change. One small transformation can affect a lot, and that's how each decision should be taken - something important. What would your character actually do in that situation? How long will they last before they succumb to the world they're thrust in that's living with it's own rules?

Roleplaying. Immersion. Consequences. Those are the keystones for Alteratio and what the goal of the game is. Many setting may seem interesting or unique, but don't quite grasp the player as a real, breathing place that they can feel is alive with non-randomized happenings or the static NPCs that are bickering about the same things. The same can be said about roleplaying & immersion - how involved and invested you feel you are in your character and their ideology, motivations, reasons for going out and doing their quests. Most games give you a 'do this, do that' format, and unless the story is eye-catching you just go and do said quests to progress and play the gameplay. Many times, you're either left with a pre-made character whose story you're following along on or push a personality or traits you want into your character and hope that you can make such choices during the game (I'll play the good/bad guy this time!).

In Alteratio, every NPC is unique with their own goals. It'll be rare that you find the same named NPC who MIGHT look the same, but they have different motivations, different goals, different reaction to things around them or the character you're playing. What you do, how you say things, why you do what you do all plays apart in how the world shapes around you, almost custom-tailoring your play-style as you play to some degree. If you constantly like fighting, expect to get into fights as your reputation grows (unless you leave no survivors). If you want to constantly experience erotica from trying to seduce others, many others will be approaching you to do such things or avoiding you and your lewdness.

While many games make you ride along for their fantastical tale and world, Alteratio breaks the mold. Starting in character creation, the goal is to let the character tell YOU, the player, how they want to be played. While you figure out who your character is and how you want your play experience to be, you're defining how your character will react to everything. You'll be 'locked' into this play-style until events change your character slowly overtime to make them change their ways, for worse or for the better. You make a combat warlord thirsting for blood? Don't expect to be seducing that fair goblin chieftain who's minions have constantly fought you for sometime in your adventure. Likewise, if you make an erotic dancer who sleeps their way into anyone's bed for money, power, information... don't expect to be going on a killing spree.

The most important aspect of Alteratio is consequences. What you do can and will affect you either immediately or down the line, good or bad. Sparing someone's life might cause them to send assassins or owe you a favor if you encounter them or their people. But more interestingly is how the Transformations will work. They nto only change how you view things, how you act, how you look, how you interact... but they will slowly change who your character is overtime. Cause and Effect - if your arm becomes a beastly claw with fur, how will others react to you? Can you even control the new muscles? How uncomfortable is it to wear things on it? Will your ability to wield things suffer with the new hand-eye coordination? If you're stuck with it, will you eventually grow accustomed to having it? Will you want to keep it or constantly pursue a way to get rid of it? This in itself is a quest, not to mention the plethora of random events that can occur.

You make your own story from the things that happen to you in this open-world, fantasy realm.

Alteratio - Multiplayer Transformation Fight

A Semi-Fast-Paced 'deck builder' card game that evolves while you play. Combined with a roleplaying overtone, how you fight, your gear, and what currently afflicts you (be it your appearance to mind) all define who you are and your capabilities for defeating others.

Set in a similar part of the world, Alteratio - Multiplayer Transformation Fight (A MtF) puts you in a chaotic zone where everyone and everything is intertwined with chaotic, manipulative energies. You are one of those who have chosen to try and harness such a power, commanding it over others to attempt to become the most powerful in the land! Your purpose for doing such is your own, but in order to do such a thing, you both need to practice harnessing your new potential and knocking those who stand before you out of the way, using anything you can!
You collect cards which represent your capabilities and gear, while you have a 'character sheet' of your abilities that many of the cards use. While you might come in wearing your magical helmet in a fight, someone can make animal ears appear on your head, leaving you unable to wear that helmet since it's not accommodating of your ears! In exchange, however, your ears allow you to do a few things you could not do before. Your deck, and your character, are constantly evolving.

Do you pursue trying to be a specific form with special capabilities or embrace your new changes and triumph with renewed strength?
