[Screw You, RESET BUTTON] - Weekly Update #12

RAWR!

UUUGH!

GIBBLE-BLARGIN!

I am soooo angry with Quest!

So: Good news first -

Character Creation in 98% finished on the tech side! Woohoo! Stat distribution, points remaining, current totals, and current selection of perks, descriptions, etc. are operational! Quite literally, only one thing is missing.

The Character Creation Menu turned out better than I had hoped - it doesn't feel clunky and hardly glitched (at least for me, we'll see how it fares for you all, and if you like the format).

And I also managed to display verbs describing your stats! Screw numbers (for the most part - what numbers that remain are up for debate for you all when I release this out: it'll be one of the main things I'm looking for input on)

Now, the bad news:

The 'Reset' button, the one that reverts any changes to stats that you wish to redo / perks you want to modify / description you would like to change, fails to work no matter what I do - I've even consulted several people on the Quest Forums and I've followed what they have said to 0 success.

One good thing did come out of it - I have figured out how to do a variable, which will allow me to expedite things when I get to the Transformation phase, which will increase/decrease a lot of stats.

I know people won't like it, but I haven't accomplished much on the CONTENT side of things - I think it completely and utterly silly to write words when I can't even get the mechanics working.

So, goals for this week:
1) Work on a large chunk of content for the Character Creator
2) Get the dang RESET button working!  Done! Finally!
3) Attempt to do a public release of the first prototype of the Character Creator by next Monday.

  1. Yeah! The evil reset bug has been demolished! Let there be no more major obstacles. (At least you were able to learn a few more things while trying to get this solved that will help in the future.)

    1. Don't go an jinx it, lol!

Everything I've done thus far has been a learning experience, and will continue being so!

That's the most important thing - the game will evolve as I learn more about it!

    1. I did, and it is my most sincerest apologies that I did - it was out of my hands, and I'll try to do better in the future, even if I have to walk 20+ KM/Miles to do so!

    1. The game was and will NEVER be on Hiatus! NEVER EVER EVER! I'll always be working on Alteratio, like I said 15 bazillions times over. Because I don't have internet does not impede my ability to work on the game!
